Peter’s experience as an attorney includes work in business litigation, regulation and transactions. He has worked at law firms in New York City as an attorney and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a legal extern.
Peter also has a background in business deals. His experience in structuring deals, as a lawyer, includes venture capital investments and startup company deals (“Series A” funding), securities offerings (private placements under Regulation D), business formation and investment fund issues for SEC registered funds, hedge funds, and private equity funds. His experience also includes business litigation including antitrust litigation.
His background also includes forming and advising investment funds and investment advisors for both private funds, including hedge funds and private equity firms and public funds, including mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs), and other investment vehicles including business development companies (BDCs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs).
Since 2011, he has worked on fifteen (15) bilingual Japanese-English language based cross-border litigation & Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation cases defending Japanese companies for antitrust, product liability and other matters including cross-border Japan-U.S. DOJ antitrust investigations of mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
During law school at Georgetown University, he worked as a legal extern at the SEC where his work focused on regulatory matters concerning mutual funds, ETFs and hedge funds. Peter holds law degrees from Georgetown University Law Center (LL.M. in Securities & Financial Regulation), St. John’s University School of Law (LL.M. in Bankruptcy), and University of San Diego School of Law (Juris Doctor). Peter is admitted to the bar of New York and has held series 7 and 63 licenses.
